Looking to put some type of covering on the front and rear decks as well as the main floor on my Lowe 1860 Roughneck (SC). Mainly to help reduce the heat during the summer months. I was looking at the EVA Foam. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm open to suggestions on what you may have used. Thanks.

I put seadek down in the cockpit floor of my ranger and love it. I'd love to eventually do my entire boat and get rid of the carpet.

You can do it yourself to save some money for a low budget fix. If you want it done right you gonna have to spend on an installer and they will measure an exact fit.

Two main options are the Eva Foam rolls or Safe Floor. The foam will be a bit more comfortable though not as durable. Safe Floor is more durable but not as comfortable on knees, barefeet, etc…

Various levels and prices on the foam. You can buy cheaper sheets online and DIY or you can have an installer come measure and install their proprietary product. The foams vary in thickness and adhesive. Plenty of info and tutorials if you want to try and keep the cost down and install yourself.

Have used Hydro Turf in a 18’ al boat and it did well with heat. Have it in my Kenner going on 6 years.
There is a difference between HT and the Amazon special flooring.
DIY, make templets for each area, work out of the sun (it will expand and contract prior to installation), make sure your deck is very clean.

I purchased Hydro-Turf (Gator Camo color) from Amazon. It's a great looking and functional addition to my Jon boat.

How much did you spend? How hard to apply?

Well, here's a partial picture of my boat from last November just after I bought it on Facebook Marketplace just to show you basically what I covered (all of the floor, decks, sides and up the sloped sides).

This was before I did a lot of work on the boat. The floors, decks and sides on this boat had like 1/8" thick aluminum that was not sturdy enough for swivel seats. I replaced the front and back decks with 1/4" thick aluminum decks and recovered them with the Hydro Turf Gator Camo to match the existing Hydro Turf. So I didn't have to do a full recovering.

I purchased a 21"x 83" sheet ($84.95) and a 47" x 86" sheet ($149.65) on Amazon to recover the front and rear decks on my 1448 Jon boat. I assume it would take approximately twice the amount of what I used if I would have needed to install the entire Hydro Turf for the boat that I currently have installed.

The Hydro Turf was relatively easy to apply. I cut out cardboard templates first for each piece of Hydro Turf and adjusted those until they fit the decks. Then I traced out the Hydro Turf with the cardboard on top of it, cut the pieces and applied them. The width of my decks were approximately 60" wide at the widest so I installed the 47" wide roll right down the middle on each deck and then had two skinny strips on each side to install that were easier to work with to finish on each side.
