For those who keep asking and/or arguing about who the LSU strike throwers are vs pitchers who walk a lot of batters. These are the stats of our pitchers who might be available tonight. Strikeouts to Walk Ratio & Percentage of Walks Allowed vs Batters Faced. I did not include anybody who hasn't thrown at least 10 innings . Yes I know ERA and Whip and other factors are enormously important (those stats are easily accessible for anyone who can google).

Zac Cowan 5.3/1 So/Walk Ratio. 5.9% Walk Percentage
Casan Evans 3.5/1 So/Walk Ratio 10.6% Walk Percentage
Jaden Noot 2.9/1 So/Walk Ratio 12.6% Walk Percentage
Cooper Williams 2/1 So/Walk Ratio 16.9% Walk Percentage
William Schmidt 2/1 So/Walk Ratio 16.5% Walk Percentage
Chase Shores 1.9/1 S0/Walk Ratio 14.8% Walk Percentage
DJ Primeaux 1.6/1 So/Walk Ratio 16.7% Walk Percentage
Mavrick Rizy 1.5/1 So/Walk Ratio 23.5% Walk Percentage
Conner Ware 1.3/1 So/Walk Ratio 23.7% Walk Percentage
Connor Benge 1.2/1 So/Walk Ratio 23.2% Walk Percentage
Jacob Mayers 1.2/1 So/Walk Ratio 45.1% Walk Percentage

For Comparison Sake

Kade Anderson 6/1 So/Walk Ratio 7.4% Walk Percentage
Anthony Eyanson 4.2/1 So/Walk Ratio 9.6% Walk Percentage

FWIW Reliever's Numbers in these two categories are normally a tad bit lower than starters numbers.

Hopefully Cowan and Evans can combine to give us 8 or a complete game

If we're not up Big, I'll be nervous when we get past Cowans or Evans.

I think if we can score early, and in multiple inning, it will take the pressure off these guys.

I’d start Cowan, the older guy who has postseason starting experience. Either way, both of them have to go a while.

If we’re up big we can close it out with whomever. If it’s close, hopefully Eyanson can give us 2-3 outs.

If we’re down late, I’ve heard heroin feels good.

The lineup should have done that last night.

I knew it was bad when it got past a few guys. I didn’t realize it was that bad!

Then it'll be Eyanson. Pitching should be fine tonight. Im a little concerned about the long layoff for Cowan and Evans but outside of Cano LR didnt really hit any of our pitchers last night. The hitting needs to come through

Now do LR. They have to be in a big hole. That kid last night looked like Greg Maddux.

If the season is on the line he will be available for an inning at the end of the game. Jay said that was part of the reason he started Eyanson in G1. And LR remembers what he did to them so the pressure is on them to get ahead early just as with florida and Paul Skenes

I could do LR, but, like most small schools 1 game from winning a regional, they would be willing to pitch anybody on their staff, for a few innings until they find the hot hand. They will piece-meal it tonight.

Is Fontenot on the active postseason roster?

I just know he hasn’t pitched any and he either got out of jams or closed a game clean in his last three times up. If he’s available, I could see him used to eat an inning if we are ahead. Or maybe close if we are way ahead so Eyanson can sit out and get his rest for next week.

I dont know if he has an injury or what. Maybe somebody else knows . Was the Louisiana Pitcher of the year coming out of High School . This year he has only pitched 5 innings , 16 batters

I know he’s had limited innings, but he had two stints vs USC, one to get out of a jam and another to close a game, possibly game 3. That was only two weeks ago.
