Can’t keep em any more but would still be fun letting one tow you around for a while:

“What would you do?”

Keep the camera ready and show to your friends.

To add to this:

I was in Cape Hatteras for the supposed drum run of the century back in 1999 or 2000.

I saw grown men crying, I saw three planes in the air circle Cape point and the water looked purple for about the equivalent of a football field. This lasted for an hour and they moved offshore.

It was crazy to see.
I was in college and had a wind up disposable camera. I got from Philadelphia was really in a citation size drum when he said that he did not have a camera. I took a picture of him and asked for his address and sent the picture to him.

He mailed me a $100 check.

I would have thrown a bait out and had a good ride.

many many years ago we used to see these schools regularly. mainly in and around Breton Sound. If you notice a spotter plane for the purse seine (SP?) boats, and go get a few casts in before the boats arrive. Won many a rodeo using this trick.

Mother Nature is amazing.

I witnessed a similar school a few miles out of Red Pass back in the day.

We ran into several schools in like in Timbalier Bay back in the 90s and 00s. I really just don't fish inshore anymore.

I saw some schools like that off the Pcola beach pier last fall. By the time I got my line in the water they were all gone.

I ran into a school like this a couple years ago out of Empire, you can guess what boats showed up...

I've seen schools like that before. Throw a spark plug at them and they'll hit it.

When I worked offshore we hit a school of them. Filled the deck of a lift boat with them, threw them back and caught the same amount again along with 4 big ling. We ate good for awhile.

Been out in the gulf where the water looked red for what seemed like forever. Limited out in no time, but then they were gone like a switch was triggered. We all thought it that we had none hooked to keep them up…

Whatever the limit was we kept about 50 of them all at least 3ft long.

Why? How much crab bait can one person need?

We cooked some and froze the rest. There was 30 of us on boat. Alot of people took it home. I don't care for redfish so I didn't take any.

Heading down the ship channel on Big Lake, we notice a large amount of gulls, pelicans sitting on a point chilling and some diving into the water. It was right at daybreak, so we eased up close enough to get a skrimp to em. For the next two hours it was red fish palooza. Soon as the bait hit the water, boom, 30" red. Most amazing fishing experience I've ever been a part of.
