Don't know much about baseball, but seems to me that J. Jones has played great defense at 1st all year. Yes, his hitting has been awful for a while now, but I can't remember one bad play he's made at 1st. Am I wrong?

He totally has played great D. I think the concern was we would be in trouble with out Trey on first. Jones has done great

I really don’t understand how he’s considered a terrible defender. MLB.com has him with a 40 grade for defense, which is below average. He doesn’t do anything special, but he also doesn’t do anything wrong. It’s kind of crazy.

He's been solid to really good. Morgan had to stretch for bad throws. Let him showcase his athletism

I'd rather guys hit the first baseman in the face with the ball

If he doesnt have to move his feet he is fine, there have been several chances recently he could have made a good play and didnt.

But he has a bigger problem than his defense.

I don’t think many think he should be removed from the lineup. He just needs to scoot down to 4 or 5 in batting order. His defense has been great.

He also has really good infielders that don’t make bad throws
This might be best lsu infield going back to Austin Nola days

He misses on plays where he has to lay out to make the play or keep the ball in front of him. He’s a big boy. But other than those few that have gotten by him lately, he’s been solid to good. Maybe he should try NOT talking to his bat since talking to his bat is not working right now?

Needs to work on his footwork. Wrong foot on the bag is something that shouldn’t be done past little league.

Well his replacement cannot do any worse than what he is currently producing.
