Will there be as big of crowd next weekend when Arkansas comes to town?

Packing the PMAC needs to become a habit.

As of last week, there were only 1500 tickets left for this contest. I'd be surprised if there is any less than 12,000 fans in the PMAC.

Doubtful because Tennessee will probably beat them Wednesday.
It took three impressive SEC wins, a Top 20 opponent, & a Saturday night to get the biggest crowd in a few seasons.
Consecutive losses will have people thinking, "they did it to me again."
If they somehow beat the Vols, the crowd will be another good one.

if they lose to tenn no shows will be expected. Its sad to to see them lay an egg with the big crowd that showed up.

What needs to become a habit is support for the team and the basketball program.

It is a chicken or egg situation. Fans will come out if the team wins, but the team may not win unless they feel like they are getting the support and desire to play better for the fans that show up. Oh, and good luck trying to recruit the best players year in and year out with no atmosphere to sell them on. There is a reason that the football recruits gush about the atmosphere of Tiger Stadium and how they want to play on that field.

I'd say it is sad to see them lose, but losing to a quality opponent in a tough game is a lot easier to stomach. Yes I wanted them to win, but I wanted them to compete even more. I think they did that.

I disagree that they layed and egg, sure they didn't win but they were competitive and played hard until the end and lost to a top 15 team that has been one of the better programs in the country over the last few years.

If the team is depending on the fans to make them consistently play better and win, they have no business playing college basketball. If it's not in you to play your hardest each time you set foot on the court, you are destined to lose.

That is good but this does not mean people will still go. Its sad but its amazing how fans will jump on the bandwagon one minute and then jump back off the second their team gets beat by a quality opponent.

I will be honest, I am a football guy but I do enjoy LSU basketball. I am not going to be at every basketball game but even if the team is having a bad year I will make at least one game. IMO what makes the games fun is the crowd and even if we are not a great team if people would still go it would be an enjoyable experience no matter what.

I think the fans need to be called out for next week.

But do you deny that it will be tough to build the program with little to no fan support?

Of course not. LSU fans will show up and support this team IF they put a good product on the floor.
The team has to win them over first though. It's up to the players and coaches to earn that support.
Winning cures all.

Aside from supporting our Tigers, everyone needs to remember that next Saturday is also a celebration of the history of LSU Basketball ( ). So everyone with a ticket needs to be there. Pack the PMAC again!

I think a lot of fans will be turned off. This was LSU's chance to grab them and it quite turn out the way many would have hoped.

Although the xavier game was sold out I was quite shocked to see how many no shows there were.

Expect tickets sold but many no shows

I think the "100 years" salespitch is going to succeed for this one. I am really looking fwd to it.

I don't think they are being comforted, a loss is a loss -- but I don't think they layed an egg. LSU vs. Florida and Ole Miss in football was laying and egg, like what Maryland did vs. Duke yesterday, stunk up the place.

LSU played well but lost to a good team. Nonetheless this is a tough loss and will likely cause the newly found fan support to dwindle. I hope the Arkansas game is big and loud but who knows.
