very odd

For a "rangy" frame, it's not all that odd. 4.7 speed is typical for a 3* athlete at that size.

I've never seen a squat max only 20 lbs more than a bench max

So does that mean shitty bench max, or shitty squat max??

Very good bench max, especially for a guy who is 230 pounds. The squat max is certainly good for a noraml 230 pound guy as well, but it is really low compared to his bench capabilities.
I am guessing that he has never had any proper training and is just lifting with poor technique. The fact that he is a D-1 level athlete just covers up poor training (which is not his fault).

it means an incredible bench max for a high school defensive end but a poor squat max.

well said. 380 isn't too good for a D end

Weak legs or not, Bennie is on the list...

dude should be squatting 450+ at minimum if he can bench 360
Within a year Moffit should be able to get his bench over 400 and his squat somewhere between 500-550 range

Not a big deal. A few months training w/ just about anyone worth a damn and that squat # will go way up. By looking at his bench max alone I'd be willing to bet he could get up to 500plus in about 4-6 months.

maybe with steroids...
you can't improve a squat 100 pounds with a few months of training FWIW

Sure you can. Maybe not if the guy has been lifting hard for years and already reached his maximum potential. Something tells me he hasn't been doing serious weight training for very long.

steroids aren't needed. if he is pushing up that much on bench he has the hormones and will. he just needs some technique and a good plan imo. he could have also have an injury or something that has held him back. who knows?

I squated 405 and I was 145lbs as a sophmore... then i sprained my MCL and was never the same :[
That's what I get for trying to truck a 265lb Defensive End in a reverse play.. I wish I could have taken that back.
