Been almost 30 years since we went. Stayed at Crescent Lake in the Olympic Peninsula. Was a great trip.
Going to visit family at the end of May. We're staying at the Lake Quinault Lodge for a week with them. Afterwards, we have booked a week on Whidby Island.
First question: Is a week on Whidby Island too much? Should we break it up further instead to go somewhere else (let's say 2-3 hours driving).
Weather: assuming low 50's upper 40's at night? Some chances of rain (and in the rain forest all the time!)
Any other suggestions (we will fly into and out of Seattle, so there could be some things to look into there. Never been to Seattle FYI).
Thanks!

We stayed on Lake Cushman last summer but made a day trip to Lake Crescent to ride bikes. Absolutely beautiful in that part of the country.

IMO, seven days on Whidbey Isl. is excessive.
If you stay there and (1) ferried over to Port Ludlow a couple of days from Whidbey and checked out it, Port Angeles, Sequim, and Neah Bay/Cape Flattery , (2) drove up to Anacortes via Deception Pass, that would be a better trip.
Good luck.

More than likely a day trip if they go that way unless they can get lucky with lodging.
Halibut season opens end of April and those are fishing towns full of fishermen til the 1st week of July when halibut closes. We book our lodging in January when it opens up.
Cape Flattery is a great spot to visit though. Great fish and chips in Neah Bay and you can go down to the fishing cleaning station on C dock, I believe, and see all the fish being cut up. Which you will see a lot!
I love Lake Cushman. I bring a boat or a waverunner so that ups the fun factor. I’m sure something could be rented. It’s not swimming season in May but a boat would be fun. There’s a lot of hiking nearby as well.
Lake Crescent is beautiful as well.

Don't sleep on Port Townsend - probably the most beautiful of all the towns on the Olympic Peninsula. There are plenty of BnBs there - old Victorian homes that have been renovated. The architecture is amazing. Fort Worden (the movie, An Officer and a Gentleman was filmed there), the down town, the views, are all outstanding. I would stay at least one night there and it would be a great experience. The restaurants, bars, and shops are very nice, as well. I used to play football and baseball at the stadium right there by Point Hudson Marina.
There is a ferry from Coupeville on Whidbey Island directly to Port Townsend - you could easily do without a car and Uber when you need it. The Ferry drops you off right in down town Port Townsend.
There is also a ferry from Whidbey to the San Juan Islands. I might take a whale watching excursion, too.
Victoria, BC is a helluvan experience, too.
