I can't catch a damn thing here. Anyone have success in this bayou? If so, any advice? It's a beautiful place and I'd love to go more often, but skunking so often makes it hard to justify.

Downsize everything. It’s got a few small bass and brim in it. I hunted in that area years ago and a beetle spin was king small cranks and just half a worm/ Ned rig . Fish eddys created by wood , any ditches running in to it and deep bends. Bring some crickets and fish under a cork. There’s a few that live there. Good luck.

It can be hit or miss, mostly miss lately.
Junebug finesse worm texas rigged without a weight has worked well for me. You have to put it as close to brush/cover as possible along the banks.

I almost always catch something there. Focus on downed timber and the base of trees. Work soft plastics a good ways off the bank cause sometimes they are hanging out a little deeper. I have good luck with a cotton candy chartreuse lizard, watermelon colored worms, and watermelon red speed craws.
ETA: If you YouTube search Little Alabama Bayou you'll probably run into a bunch of my videos. I fish there a lot.

Lots of good advice already posted here.
You’ll have better luck when the water is lower than it currently is. I’ve also never done to well closer to the launch.

How far out do you go? I'm in a kayak so the furthest I've gone is ~4 miles, but my luck didn't seem to improve that day.

Never paid attention to actual distance, been years since I’ve been. I would always start about 1/3 the way towards the pipeline and never had luck past the pipeline.
