We started getting leaks Friday and I spent a lot of the weekend on the phone talking about this. Will be interesting to see how accurate and if some of these can survive.

48E (ITC)/45Y (PTC): Commercial side of the tax code for solar and wind.
Phasedown till 2031

45U (Nuclear): Nuclear tax credit. Because these are long term tax credit this very well might destroy the nuclear industry if there isn't a safe harbor provision.
Phasedown till 2031

45Q (CCS): Carbon Capture
Safe

45Z (CFPC): Clean Fuel Production tax credit
extension till 2031 with phasedown

45X (Manufacturing PTC): Domestic manufacturing
phasedown till 2031

25D (Homeowner ITC): Individual solar tax credit
Eliminated

30D (EV): Individual EV purchases
Eliminated

30C(EV): Charging infrsatructure
Eliminated

45W (EV): Commercial EV purchases
Eliminated

45V (Hydrogen): Hydrogen production
Eliminated

Transferability: Ability to transfer or sell tax credits
at present, slated to end after 2 years (2026)

out of all the things - why is carbon capture "safe". It is the dumbest "green" energy program out of all of them.

A lot of the subsidies are pissing away money. They should kill wind and solar completely.

I think we see some survive but with a requirement to have domestically made equipment at some %.

Red states are cleaning up on IRA credits. Which makes sense so as much as he hates Biden they should leave it alone

They've certainly been the big winner on a few fronts. Almost all of the domestic manufacturing capacity thats been built in the last 7 years is in deep red districts. MTG has thousands of people in her district that build solar panels as an example.

Starting to get screenshots of specific language. Looks like this is all accurate so far.

Carbon capture is a joke.

You know Landry is kissing arse begging for it.

I disagree. If CO2 is actually a problem carbon capture is what allows us to continue using hydrocarbons. I know that’s a problematic “if” for many of you, but I think there is a significant chance that the problem is real.

I just don’t believe we can make any meaningful impact from it regardless of one’s beliefs about its impact.

I just can’t figure out why the other proven forms of carbon-less energy generation get whacked or sunset and the CCS survives unscathed. This just feels very lobbyist influenced to me.

The CO2 that plants use dwarfs anything humans can create.

Right - how about the focus is put on planting trees and reforestation - the Earths natural carbon capture; rather than spending billions of dollars injecting it into the ground where there is no guaranty it will stay where it is injected or the long term effects of such injection.

That's basically all it is. A front so we can continue to use hydrocarbons.
