We just booked the Kimpton Seafire for late June to do our annual Caribbean trip, but with our baby for the first time. For those that have stayed at this resort, do you have any recommendations, especially with a baby? We're mainly looking to just relax on the beach and wine and dine. I like to do some exploring, but that will be limited with the baby. How is it getting around in taxis? Can you bring car seats around for safety?

Restaurants on island and activity recommendations appreciated!

Great resort, beach, and pool. There will be plenty of kids there, although I haven't been yet with kids personally. Depending on age of baby, there's a splash park to the side. Probably will not want to walk to much with a baby as it's just outside of being for an easy walk to the neighboring resorts, although my wife was pregnant when we went which might've limited us. Taxis were easy from resort, and restaurants should be able to arrange for one home, although not sure how comfortable you feel about taxi with a baby. Restaurants at resort are all great to keep things easy, didn't have a single bad meal at any of the spots. There's a happy hour in lobby for some free beer/wine every night. The cocktail bar is very nice as well although not sure if it'll apply.

Appreciate the feedback!

How expensive are the on-site restaurants? How bad are the drink prices at the pool? I typically get beer from a store on trips like this and mix in some frozen cocktails from the pool bar.

Baby will be 5 months old when we go in June. I can walk wherever and where the baby pouch on my stomach and going to pack the Doona for cabs and going around town.

We stayed there two years ago and really loved the cabana. If you can reserve one ahead of time, do it. The cabana comes with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. We made the most expensive mimosas ever.
The only restaurant that I remember was the Union Grill in Georgetown. It was a good meal. We did a sunset cruise from the dock behind the Union Grill and ate there after the cruise. It was a nice evening. We also ate at the hotel, but it wasn't a memorable meal.

The Kimpton Seafire is super family-friendly, and they offer cribs and high chairs. Taxis are fine with car seats, just confirm with the driver. For food, try The Wharf and Calypso Grill.

Seafire is a beautiful place, you're going to enjoy it.

Tilly's restaurant was one of my favorite meals ever.

Food and drink on the pricey end, never a bad idea to pick up some booze I did the same a few times. There's a fridge in the room. It's a small enough resort that I'm sure it's frowned upon to bring a whole ice chest down there and not order from the bartenders but I had a few when I came down from the room.

The sea turtle farm is a great place to go with little kids so definitely go check it out. Also for restaurants, if you're looking for a more laid back atmosphere Sunshine Grill, Rackams, Tukka and Cimboco are all great. I've heard good things about Guy Harvey's too but personally have never been.

For more upscale dining, Calypso Grill, Casanova, and Ragazzi are some of my favorites. Enjoy your trip man I'll be down in Cayman in a couple of months

If you’re comfortable driving UK style then I say rent a car for sure. If you don’t think you’ll be doing too much exploring around other than to go out to eat then you will be fine with taxis especially at the Seafire. Not sure about Island GO I’ve never done that.

Also, I forgot to mention two more activities that are great depending on your kid’s age. The cave tours on the island are amazing and definitely a must if your kid is over 3 or 4 years old. They are on the opposite end of the island from the Seafire so it’s about an hour drive but well worth it imo. The sunset cruise to rum point is awesome too but I’m not certain if they still do it but could be worth looking into.

One of the best service hotels I’ve ever been to. You will enjoy it there.
