Any time a Q&A session gets opened up to questions someone has to ask about Tariffs and DEI.

FFS we're an insurance company..... at least our CEO quipped with, "Hopefully services will never be tariffed,"

For DEI he pointed out that we have an Indian CIO....

Next time I’m forced to sit on some BS equality training I’m going to proudly bring up it’s ok to not like certain races and that there are some races I really like and some I really don’t like.

When all the noise settles down I’ll say for example, I really don’t like races at Darlington Speedway - too many wrecks and it just never seems to flow.

Actually, insurance companies will get hit hard by tariffs. Repairing and replacing vehicles are at the heart of the products getting hit hard by tariffs. Their claims costs will go up, squeezing their margins and ultimately causing premiums increases.

There are other market forces at play that will bring the cost of vehicles and parts down. Don’t be such a downer.

Oh dear think of the poor insurance companies.

The auto insurers are making record profits. They are slaughtering people with rate increases.

Corporate Meeting Q & A Sessions laden with Political Tinge

We had our first thinly veiled DEI meeting last year, and I walked out the moment they tipped their hand and basically had to admit it was a DEI meeting. Since then, I have found ways to creatively avoid every single one of them, every 30 days, for 11 months now. They tell me these meetings are mandatory, and I seriously don't give a shite. My job duties are more important.

I'm in a good position to have this attitude though. I've turned down opportunity after opportunity over these 2.5 decades to advance into management. Because of that, I now make more than most of the managers while still hourly, and they typically don't bother me about much because I know more about this job than all of them combined.
