I'm thinking about joining.

Are the greens still in really good shape?

My son is getting into golf and this might be a good spot for us.

Not a member but I have played it a good bit. They always have a game going and it’s not packed so it should be a great spot to take your time with a kid. I have seen quite a few kids playing, especially during the Summer. Greens are good, people are good, beer is cheap and cold, course is a challenging layout.

this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Only thing that I'm hesitant about is the drive, about 25 mins away.

A guy I work with was a member and I’ve played as his guest but also played there with our group during the week without a member.

I've only played there a handful of times, all within the past year. My thoughts:

Are the greens nice? Yes, they are fantastic. Best part about the course.

Do I enjoy the course outside of the greens? No, not really. I appreciate the different tee boxes to make the course play differently from front to back nine, but there aren't a whole lot of interesting holes and I don't care for the grass on the rest of the course.

Is it nice to have an easy place to get on? You bet.

Is it worth it to join? For me, that would be a no. But I enjoy playing all over. It's a nice change of pace for me, but I wouldn't want to have that be my primary/home course.

Just my opinion from my perspective. Everyone is different though.

Sounds nice to me! My uncle had a house out there when we were kids. I would love to go play it again one day

Greens are good. The member crew and competitions are a great time.

I’m a member there and It’s a great place for that. Usually not busy, greens are always in good shape,

Come check it out, Yes it’s a nine hole neighborhood course but in my opinion it’s the best $30 course in the Baton Rouge area for conditions and playability, especially for kids getting into the game.

I guess technically it’s “semi private” but that’s just a label, anyone can play at any time.

Figured there’d be a thread in this. So I didn’t make another thread would just jump into this one. I played here today for the first time ever. Greens were actually in excellent shape, fairways were nice and the tee boxes didn’t require a hammer the get a tee in the ground. It was not packed at all and the bartender made a helluva transfusion.. carts were nicer than most courses around… granted they could use a brake job. The 2 carts in our group didn’t brake….At fricking all

Only downsides.. weird layout .. No driving range(I get it, small course) chipping practice area is in a slightly odd spot on the middle of the course ..and the course is tighter than a ticks arse. I’ll be bringing a driving iron next time I play it . The rough… it sucks.. that second cut was like trying to hit a ball of of a fly trap.. lawd it was sticky

But not a bad way to spend 40 bucks and a couple hours

I worked there one summer. Trimmed a lot of weeds around those ponds. They had us dig a small ditch across a fairway with shovels. I learned that day I needed a desk job. There was a fair haired boy around that time that could really play.

Yeah I had a similar experience. One of my Dads best friends is an irrigation specialist and I worked with him one summer and I helped him put in a complete system at the park in St. Francisville after that I knew a job with AC was what I wanted

My oldest brother was a carpenter and enlisted me in a roofing job in July. That and the Fennwood gig swore me off outdoor work. Was in the great AC for decades after that.

You should play in their 4 Ball in a few weeks. If my buddy can swap shifts we are playing.

Yeah absolutely.. I definitely think it would be an enjoyable little course now knowing that I’d have to play it different that my home course that is wide arse open.

Honestly I’d join it if I lived in the area. Just to have a place that isn’t packed to the gills and a place that forces me to play a focused game
