Preview reels me back in after feeling disappointed in season 2

Season 2 didn't make sense to me
I thought the main premise of the games in season 1 was "everyone is equal" and unfair advantages weren't going to be tolerated.
Then in season 2, the main character plays again and the Front man is allowed to join and influence things as well.

Gi-hun has just as much chance of dying in Season 2 as a player as he did in Season 1. In-Ho didn't really influence anyone during the games as Player 001. Nobody seemed to care Gi-Hun played before after he didn't predict Game 2 correctly.
That being said, the plot armor makes it nearly impossible

Game 4 looks to be Tag,
Red gumball gets a knife, Blue gumball gets a key.
Red will try and kill blue in a maze before the timer ends. Blue, I assume, will try and find a door to unlock to escape.
Game 5 will be the doll scene at the end of Season 2. That being said, Player 100 is Blue in Game 4 and in the Game 5 preview scene and Gi-Hun is Red in Game 4 so it doesn't look like everyone of the same color will die in Game 4.
Gi-Huh also looks to have his voting taken away, as he's handcuffed to the bunk during the voting in Season 3.

Season 2 didn't make sense to me
S2 was a hot mess. Forced plot devices used to create artificial drama, illogical storylines and some bad directing, especially in that final episode. It's a typical example of a fantastic original(ish) idea successfully executed in its initial season (or movie) only to be followed up by no idea how to extend it into future seasons (or movies). I do hope S3 is good, because I'd like to see this thing end as strong as it began.
