What is the deal with all the "Die Hard" Brave/Cubs fans...

who were born and raised in Louisiana? I have met so many of you and don't get the connection. Is it because there is no MLB team in Louisiana and they were on tv every day when you were growing up (WGN/TBS)? Personally I can't imagine having any interest in a team unless I had some connection with them. Example me:
graduated from LSU born and raised in Houston Texas. My 4 favorite teams are Tigers, Astros, Rockets, Texans. How do you become a "die hard" Braves/Cubs fan being from Louisiana?

No I shouldnt. I didnt grow up in Austin and I chose to go to LSU because of an academic ride. I'll root for UH if I ever hear them in anything worth a shite

I root for the Titans once the Texans are out of playoff contention. Still have love for the Oilers. Anything else?

Could give two shits if they make it but if they are in i'll throw them my support because they are Houston, unless they are playing LSU.

and I wasn't a "real fan" until I came too and graduated from LSU. It wasn't until then that I had an affiliation with LSU, which is the reason I support them over any other school.
