I bought 2 pretty potted Cajun H recently. One is blooming nicely. 3 days ago I noticed the taller stems are short, looks like snapped in 1/2. Clear cut. No bugs on them. Any idea how to protect them? Thank you.

No. Just backyard behind wooden fence in typical neighborhood.

Did you find the missing part of the stem?

Do any kids have access?

Well that sucks. A friend just told me it could be something called cut worms that come out at night from the soil so will look that up. Unless it’s a possum or something.

I have them in my back yard here. I have 10 dwarf Hibiscus in the back and 8 different kinds in the front. I was having something eat mine and put a trail camera up. The deer and rabbits both eat the shite out of them. It sucks too because I love those flowers but I dont think there is anything I can do to keep them away from them.

No to missing part found and no young children. Stem just looks cut in half. No wildlife except possums that I’m aware of. A friend said it could be some sort of worm that is in the soil (I forget what worm he mentioned will have to ask again).
