These six new high rises were just approved near the Falcon’s Stadium in addition to the massive Centennial Yards project already under construction
New approved buildings breaking ground later this year):

This entire area is going to be awesome when completed!

Atlanta is cool because there's almost three downtown looking areas. Downtown proper, Midtown, and Uptown. I think that's right.

you forgot our 4th downtown - which is Buckhead

How will this effect the traffic?
Posted on 5/2/25 at 4:34 pm to justaniceguy
Considering that Atlanta has the 2nd wort traffic in the country.. I doubt it will help the traffic lol

It's basically going to be Atlantic Station for downtown.
I like it. Downtown has needed a jolt for a while.

We all agree that Atlanta traffic sucks but let's be fair.

Pretty sure this is the Gulch project talked about for years, not breaking news for ATLiens.

Thanks for sharing. Just more reasons to avoid this place.

Can anybody with experience in both tel me if Atlanta traffic is worse than Houston?

Yes this is breaking news. The Gulch is Centennial Yards.. this is a completely different project

They both suck. It's hard to tell which one sucks more. I will say Houston sucks more because it's an uglier city overall.

I think Houston is worse. I also think Orlando and Miami are both worse
At least Atlanta traffic moves.

Worst traffic I've experienced is L.A. and DC

Outkast told me that Atlanta was a black man's heaven. Is that true?
I've been twice in the late 90's and had a pretty good time. Is it still a decent place?

I lived in Houston for seven years, and I'm on my 25th year in Atlanta.
1. Atlanta drivers drive faster. Advantage Atlanta.
2. Houston has two loops around the city- Beltway 8 and 610 loop.
Atlanta has one- 285. Advantage Houston.
3. Atlanta has a better rail system (MARTA), which can take you straight to
the airport. Advantage Atlanta.
4. Bad accidents shutting down highways. - See point 2. Atlanta has less
options than Houston when it comes to avoiding those really bad shut-
downs due to accidents. Advantage Houston.
5. a-hole drivers - Houston has more. Advantage Atlanta.
