Mostly when traveling in a car (not driver at the time) or a train. Sometimes just in the same spot/location too when not traveling speed can suck too. I tried all 3 main carriers. Not MVNOs.

Doubt starlink would help or anything else like it. Maybe I am wrong.

It mostly when traveling. Though like I said can happen either or.

Solution decided to make my own portable local wireless NAS for now. Should work as long as mode of transportation has a power source to plug into. I know train should sense they have actual outlets. Not sure about most cars :( Planes not sure either.

Anyway to make it battery powered too for emergencies ?

Yes I know I do not need to stream at 4k on mobile devices but want to. Even so 1080p or even below does not work that well either over cellular data speed at all times when traveling.

1. Download them to your phone and watch them locally
2. You should watch less movies and read books honestly. I can barely understand that mess you call english.

Already do. Not enough storage or space even with max out specs

You're going to haul a NAS with you when you travel?

It sounds like your phone or your plan are a POS, all carriers are going to throttle video first, MVNO or not. You're probably using so much bandwidth so fast you're getting kicked down to 4G (not LTE) four days into your service month, because you didn't read the fine print about your "unlimited" service.

Please tell us who you work for. You're like the guy that shows up with a dead laptop and no paper/pen. We're screwed as a society.

Sometimes. Sometimes. Sometimes.

Just buy a 24 v battery, a 24v cccv charger(boost converter if car) and a 19v buck converter assuming your server is a mini or a laptop. Tape them together and you have a UPS.
I’d use 8s lithium iron phosphate for stability when running near 100% capacity full time and maybe turn the charger down 0.1V or so.
Probably not going to get anything like that on a plane.
Edit: with an extra diode and converter you can actually bypass the constant battery havoc and just use a CV charger. Search web or ChatGPT “DIY DC UPS”

You are wanting to use cellular to stream 4k (at least 70gb, even 1080p is about 30gb), showing a gross lack of understanding of what the current tech is capable of.

Furthermore, given the pixels in a 4k display (3840x2160) and the typical size of a cell phone screen, roughly 6.5x3.5" it gives you close to 600 pixels per inch. The question becomes, can your eyes resolve 600 dpi at typical viewing distances? The answer is no. At typical viewing distances of 12"-18" and 20/20 vision the human eye can only resolve about 300 dpi. On a typical 6.5" phone, that works out to 1950x1059 or very close to 1080p (1920 × 1080).

In other words, watching anything in 4k on a phone is basically pointless.

If the phone storage isn't enough why not just carry some kind external storage like a large capacity flash drive or SD card with reader. Either will be easier than even using just a travel router as a NAS and you don't have to worry about power.
