I'm glad for you that you found something to be disappointed in after LSU (likely) takes the series over Tennessee, and will be sitting in second place in the SEC with 3 series to play.

This is what I’m thinking about as LSU is about to take the series from Tennessee

Still a month for one or both of them to put it together and make this team extremely dangerous.

I’m hoping that one or both can put it together even if it’s for a couple of outings at the end of the year. Definitely not giving up on Schmidt yet.

In 2023 thatcher Hurd couldn’t find the plate, and was relegated to mid-week duty. (He couldn’t even get out of the first few innings in some of those games if I recall correctly)
Ty Floyd was bombed on this site for having too flat of a fast ball and he gave up home runs seemingly every time he took the mound….
Both of them went all Cy Young for us in Omaha.
Don’t be that tool

Schmidt will be fine. When he is confident , he is solid. Most of his issues are in his mind. He has been hit and squeezed for the first time since he was 12. He has to learn how to not let that affect how he pitches. Cason was rocked in the first, but kept his focus. That is the only difference between the two Once Schmidt learns to play the game pitch by pitch , he will be a stud.

This time last year, Cade Anderson was basically in Schmidt’s same position.

Schmidt is a long way from being a disappointment. Is he where we all hoped? No, but far from being labeled a disappointment.
