I just saw 11 bowfishing guide boats headed to the Biloxi Marsh. Is there a tournament going on or is this an every night thing?

You 100% they were bow fishing boats?

Could be tower boats headed there for the Power Pole redfish tournament.

There were 11 barges with at least 15 led lights facing the water and 2-3 surface drives on the back. Some had a surface drive/ outboard combo

They love to shoot fish on the WMA

The regulations state that surface drives are prohibited in Biloxi WMA. I guess all 11 of them bowfished side by side in Lena Lagoon all night to not break any rules.

They are there almost every night and they definitely go on the WMA sometimes.

I'm all about people going bowfishing and having fun. It just seems a little egregious seeing a fleet with 4-6 customers each going into the wma at sunset. It was pretty eye opening.

I am not the biggest fan of it. However, is the end result any different in terms of harvest than the fleet of charter boats leaving the dock full of anglers and shrimp?

Depends on if those charter boats are running surface drives through the WMA

Clearly this is a problem but there is a difference between toward the WMA and in the WMA. Were they just East from marina accross the MRGO? There is marsh over there that is not WMA

From what I saw, they were going to or through Lena Lagoon. There's not much private land around Lena before you get to the WMA. Especially for the amount of boats that were going out there... Usually they are heading south out of Hopedale Marina, which is perfectly legal. It makes sense that they were headed that way because the water near Borgne was really clean. It was just crazy seeing how many bowfishing guides are running out of there now.
