Refinishing concrete pilings

So my camp sits on I beams screwed into 12 foot concrete pilings that are probably 6-8’ in circumference. When they poured them they used the tubes and they cured crooked. Not horribly but they need to be shaved and made to be more cylindrical.
Any thought on how to do this and what tools would work?

I’m pretty sure you mean 6-8” in diameter.
In any case a grinder with a cup wheel would probably be your best bet. It’ll be dusty.

No. I really do mean 6-8 feet in circumference.

Gotcha.
Seems like quite a project to tackle. Don’t know that I would. It would have to be very unsightly for me to mess with it.
Probably skim coat it with mortar, if I’m picturing it correctly.

Would not mess with this. Get some marine grade paint for concrete an paint them black.

Yea my biggest question is whether to grind the humps or mortar the slumps and dips. I’m afraid mortar patches won’t hold up in a salty environment and then wondering what tools would work best to grind the bumps and hump’s from a ladder or scaffold.

Are they just ugly? You could get a bigger sono tube split it tape it up fill it with Portland and it would be nice and pretty.

Well ugly enough to a south LA guy to want to fix them up. The prior owner lost his camp in a hurricane so being south la and oilfield got a buddy to tube build the pilings and put iron I-beams bolted to them and then built the camp on top of that. Up 14+ feeet. He did impress with all that but he must have used a son in law new ti concrete to do the tuber pilings as they blew out some in places. But had a structural engineer tell me when I bought it that they not going anywhere.

Yes, a grinder with a cup wheel to take out the worst of the bulges and humps and a good mortar to fill the dips. Fill the dips first.

Diamond cup. A 7" grinder would be better if you have one.
