You could try Pablo’s in new roads or you may have to drive to morganza to the la express but I would call first

There is absolutely nothing out there by that bridge - its all just land. I am guessing you will have to go into New Roads.

Pablo’s truck stop usually has them but they sell out quick!

I was told by a shop in Boutte some years ago that they stopped carrying them once it warmed up each year, because they were too hard to keep alive when it's warm. And their tank was in A/C. Maybe it was the transport in warm weather that was the issue. Whatever the case, if they're hard to find, that may be why.

Are there shiners in the river? Catch them yourself....they will live longer and catch more fish even when the ones you buy came out of the same river....because they will be just like the bait fish the fish are accustomed to seeing while the ones caught in the river, taken to a store, sold and brought back will be subtly to drastically different looking. Are the golden shiners? Easy to bait up and catch usually....
