The House of Representatives on Thursday passed the Trump-backed budget resolution in a 216-214 vote.
Spartz and Massie voted no.

The Senate passed Trump’s “one big, beautiful bill” to pave the way for savings of over $1 trillion on Saturday in a 51-48 vote.
The resolution includes lowering taxes for Americans, securing the border, unleashing American energy independence and more cost-cutting by DOGE.

I’ll reserve comments on massie until i see what cuts made it in.

Unless there’s massive spending cuts, I’m not hopeful.

CBS News:

About a dozen House conservatives ultimately flipped their opposition after receiving assurances from leaders that the Senate would pursue $1.5 trillion in savings, at a minimum. "Our two chambers are directly aligned," House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, said before the vote. "We're committed to finding at least $1.5 trillion in savings for the American people while also preserving our essential programs."
Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a South Dakota Republican, echoed that the Senate is "aligned with the House in terms of what their budget resolution outlined in terms of savings."
"The speaker talked about $1.5 trillion dollars. We have a lot of United States senators who believe that is a minimum," Thune said.

Exactly. I certainly don't expect a balanced budget. But I 100% expect strides being made.

Trump supported it. Don't ask for details. What are you a Cuck Libtard???

Just so I'm clear, the reluctant Republican House members voted for it based on assurances that changes would be made in the Senate?
I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I really want to understand: why not make the changes in the House?

Doesn’t seem like a dumb question to me if that’s what took place.
Might also explain Masse voting NO.

My understanding is the reluctant House members wanted the proposed savings from the Senate to be "in the same ballpark " as the proposed savings in the House. So there wouldn't be alot of time spent on reconciling a big difference. IMHO

We can just cancel out that $5 trillion dollars that Elon and crew says came up missing, close whatever hole that allowed that, and we're good to go.

We have "AI" now, so we should be able to "read" the 100,000 page bill before they pass it. If/when they actually get it "written".

Its not a bill. Its a resolution, a blueprint for committes in the House and Senate to follow once the new spending bill begins to be constructed.
