The Godfather Epic - 1901-1959

I finally broke down and bought this Bluray set on eBay. I was a little nervous about the quality since it was a bootleg, but I'm glad I made the purchase.
For those that don't know, this is a recut of The Godfather and the Godfather Part 2 in chronological order, with the deleted scenes restored. There are a few different versions out there. The one I got is a little over 7 hours long.
It was great to experience these movies in a different way., especially the deleted scenes -
- Vito's killing spree in Sicily makes his revenge much more satisfying than simply killing the old Don who seemed to have a week left to live anyway.
- Michael's revenge on Fabrizio.
- Tom finds out Wolz is a child molester.
- Many more Sonny scenes, especially after Vito's shooting.
- More scenes with Vito and Michael.
For the most part, the deleted scenes were seamlessly inserted. The only thing I noticed was that is some of the young Vito deleted scenes, they spoke in English. That could be a bit jarring when they spoke Italian before and after, but I still prefer it with those scenes intact.
I highly recommend picking this or a similar set up for any fan of the Godfather.

I remember when FOX first aired this in the late 80's (or a TV version of it). The one deleted scene that bothered me was the inclusion of Coppola's grandfather as a little boy, playing the flute, and someone making over him becoming a great musician some day.

I honestly can't stand to watch it any other way after I saw it in this order, many years ago.

ETA: Apparently not. Anyone know where you can find this?

it's somewhat implied in the original cut. "young beautiful best piece of arse I've ever had" or whatever
Knowing what we know about Hollywood, I wonder who had that part cut from the movie.

It's not available anywhere that I could find. I bought a bootleg bluray on ebay.

I bought this last year from eBay also. AMC used to show it once a year for an entire week when I was in HS and I would record it. I've also read that when HBOgo first launched it was available there but I can't guarantee that as I never saw it there.

I had this on videotape before Katrina took all my videos. Would love to see it again. Thanks for the reminder. I remember especially loving the revenge scenes.

I remember this being in the novel. Although I read it many years ago.
