So Malone and Jenkins are now available. Watch the idiot Griffin work to extend Willie instead.

Willie has to be just riding out this season. They can't bring this dude back there's no way. Even if this is a clown org.

I just have a feeling that hiring Mike Malone makes just to much sense for Griff to do it.

I'd be fine getting rid of Willie and Griffin.

Between Jenkins or Malone, idgaf. Get either one. Both HUGE HUGE improvements over the current one. Griffin needs to go too.

Big issue is does Malone or Taylor want to coach here? Malone want to coach a. veteran team that’s ready to win now. Jenkins will most likely get several offers. Coaching the pels is a huge risk right now. You don’t know which Zion will show up or if he might demand a trade, and the rest of the roster is mid at best.

I just don't know what reason I'd have to think our ownership is going to pay a fired coach AND a championship level coach his market rate?

I don't see it.

I think the Pelicans can be competitive with pay but probably nowhere in the ball park that Malone commands. He was currently the highest paid coach at 12 mil annually.

So unless his reputation has taken a hit around the league as a detrimental figure in the locker room and risky hire who would create conflict with the GM/VP, it'll be a tough hire for the Pelicans.

He's a guy who you hire if you are looking to contend now. Don't think we're viewed as that type of roster right now. He probably prefers to go to a ready made situation with a top 10 player at the minimum.

Willy is a joke! Denver fires Malone, the winningest coach in Denver's history for losing the last 4 games out of 7. Wow..if that's the standard for firing coaches, Slick Willy should've got the boot a long time ago.
