Never thought I would see any coach let a guy throw 135 pitches!

That was an epic move by CJJ to let Kade Anderson finish that one. I wish we would see this more!

Anderson makes it look effortless

It was like he got stronger as the game progressed. Especially those last couple innings.

Lane Mestepey threw like 200 against Tulane

That happens often, but baseball has moved away from letting guys really settle in with deep pitch counts.

Yeah it definitely ain't how it was in the 80's and 90's. Skip would let guys throw 150+

Do we have his pitch count by inning? Wasn’t watching, was at the Chalmette/Slidell game

Not for every arm.. but I'm sure Anderson told JJ that he wanted to finish it.

Maybe Skip was in Jay’s ear tonight

I assume the extra day he gets since next week's series starts on Friday was something of a factor, but still one of the gutsiest calls and execution I've personally witnessed.

Yes, seemed like he threw every game. For some reason think it was year OM won CWS.
But high pitch counts makes me think of the I think super against Houston where Hou guy threw 90-100 in game one and then did it again in game 3 to advance. Only other thing I remember from that series is LSU starter in game 3 guaranteed a win and didn’t make it out of the first inning.

He only threw 62 in the last 5 innings.

Yup. That was him. I'm probably wrong, but i want to say it was against Texas. I was locked in on the end of that game.
IMO, regional and supers are much better than march madness, and I don't really watch baseball.

Couple of reasons. Many think arms can handle much more than 100 pitches with today’s emphasis on spin rates. Also, the analytics show batting average greatly increase the third time through the lineup. Even pitchers having good outings are yanked before the hit through the lineup a third time. Hence, pitchers coming out with lower pitch counts.

No brainer move I mean the guy does have 2 arms Incase one turns to jello or spontaneously combust

I think the cool weather helped in terms of endurance and it also helped by giving Kade more confidence to pitch to contact.
