When the shift works nobody is on here saying how great it was.

Shifts are just dumb in college baseball.
1. There’s not enough data
2. Pitchers aren’t skilled enough to pitch to the precise place in order for the shift to be effective.
And….. I know, I know, Jay knows a lot more than me. But…just as Todd said, it works as much as it doesn’t.

You’ve got to know when to shift.
You’ve got be sure your pitcher is capable of throwing a batter into the shift.
Against a power hitting pull happy five hole? Sure shift away.
Shifting against an SEC three hole? More than likely a bad idea.
