Did we ever figure out why in the world the Grizzlies fired Taylor Jenkins?

I listened to Simmons and Russillo this morning, they fired all his assistants without his consent in the offseason and had pretty much taken the offense away from him. Last year they ran no high pick and roll and since the all star break have been running a bunch, which I guess wasn’t his doing.

They theorized that the front office actually likes the roster and thinks they can win some on the playoffs without him so instead of waiting for the offseason they went ahead and fired him. The same guys that fired him are the ones that brought in the new assistants so they clearly think they’re good coaches.

No idea if any of that is true, just what they were talking about

Because the 37 year old Duke Law GM wanted to swing his dick and show everyone how smart he is and that he’s in charge.

I’ve noticed that, much like the Dallas GM, the Grizzlies GM has made sure everyone know’s this was all his doing….what happened to the adults running sports franchises?

The “adults” are fine and happy losing in round 2… you need a younger person to have the hunger and killer instinct to win championships… people who disrupt and break things

So you come to this conclusion with 9 games left in the season?

No GM trades a generational superstar or fires a 4th place coach with 9 games left, without talking to higher ups first. They are simply taking the public heat.

Good article about it LINK

Sounds like Jenkins was being undermined by the front office going all in on some Euro offense concept and hired a Finnish guy to implement it.
