Woodward has done a great job for LSU

He brought Women’s basketball back! Gave us a powerhouse gymnastics program and a Football team that is now a Family!

You also didn't mention Jay Johnson as the LSU baseball coach. Did Woodward screw the pooch on McMahon? Yep, he did. McMahon is clearly not a major college caliber coach. But every AD misfires on somebody. Certainly hit on the WBB coach...gymnastics program...Brian Kelly and the football program...and Jay Johnson and the baseball program. His HUGE miss was McMahon. There were some extenuating circumstances there for that transition but still clearly a miss on that hire.

I agree with that...sort of. BUT my GUESS is Woodward's side of the story would be with the BB program under NCAA scrutiny and Will Wade's incredibly STUPID admission in that agent conversation about offering money to Smart, that drastically reduced the possible BB coach pool. He would give a reason/excuse that he had to offer a long term contract to get anybody to coach.

One great hire and the rest you can attribute to many other factors. Jay Johnson is his crown jewel. Mulkey, wanted to come home. Not sure he was deciding factor…Kelly, this year is make or break
