With all the talk with Fla, Texas, and Cal being the big three for college football prospects, were to yall think LA ranks. In my opinion louisiana is right behind the big three with a consistant group of players year in and year out.

When you look at the size of Texas, Fla. and Cal. compare to LSU, it's only obvious that they'll have more recruits.
But the quality of recruits that come out of Louisiana ranks them up there with them.
2 of the least 3 years the top rated prospect came from Louisiana.

Maybe higher... LA HS football talent is often 'overlooked', lacking the local/national media hype residing in CA, TX and FL.
The talent is just as good, despite the facilities and academics found at some of LA's schools.
As a result, schools like Tulane and La. Tech have begun to benefit by keeping many recruits inside LA.
Nevertheless, we all know that we need to continue to better the facilities and academics of all LA schools.

You find conflicting info depending on where you look. I've found La anywhere from #1 to #4 per capita for NCAA Div.I players and the same for NFL players. The most interesting list I found had Hawaii #1 and La #2 Fl #3 for NCAA players.

Per capita, LA is probably #1. Total, I'd say:
1-3: Texas, UF, Cali (any order)
4-6: PA, Ohio, Georgia (any order)
LA's 7th.
IMO.

I disagree. That's why people like Saban and Kiffin hire people with ties to La. They know the talent is here.

Miss. may have caught up to us. I don't know. But a few years ago, Louisiana led in NFL players per capita, by a big margin. I think about 3 years ago, 1 out of every 52,000 people in Louisiana went on to play in the NFL. The next closest was like 1 out of 85,000. I think that was Miss. But as I said before, the may have caught up to us.

Perhaps...if your criteria is players in the NFL.
Not that it shouldn't be...just saying there's several ways you could look at it.
Mississippi has fewer people than LA by a good bit, I believe.

College and High School football is religion in LA. That's why LA churns out top players year in and year out, and LSU has a fence around the state. It's a great business model for success.

idk about the rest of the state but here in central la the facilitys are shite. ASH is the only high school to put out some D1 prospects but they end up in oklahoma. But for being a little state la puts as much talent into college and nfl as anybody

I was referring to the national CFB media, the amount of publicity LA HS recruits receive (compared to CA, TX or FL recruits), etc.
Obviously, recruiters are aware of the talent.

I know Destrehan's facilities are pretty money, they werent bad when I was there but when Ed Reed's little brother got to HS, Ed donated a good bit of money towards uniforms and all that other stuff. I believe they even play on artificial turf now?? Not 100% on that tho.
