I know it’s me being totally greedy, but man I wish Griffin Herring had come back

I’m not sure anybody’s seized the role he had last year or if anybody will. Be nice to have a shut down lefty reliever who could come in and get 6-9 outs in tight SEC game. Or do y’all think he’d be in the rotation?

We need another lefty out of the pen who can extend, and we need another guy who’s been there before and pitched in those big situations. Especially with Guidry being out for however long he’s going to be. And if it’s a back injury, his velo will likely be down a tick and he may not have enough time to ramp it back up.

Anyway, can’t get em or keep em all, and I think Bear was the more important draft eligible sophomore to come back for this particular team. But damn, imagine if this staff had Herring in a top role.

yeah connor ware is a bit of a mystery

He looked awesome against DBU who is the best team we’ve faced so far.

but sorta he’s fallen apart the last 2 outings.

has to just straighten out some balls and wild pitches and he should be ok. I think he is the lefty guy.

Would've been nice to have him back but it seems pretty clear he knew he wouldn't be a SP in the weekend rotation.

He’d probably be the most important arm on this staff though.

We will see whether Cowan can fill that role.

Obligatory

It was like he was mad he had to pitch to opposing teams and would take his frustrations out on them. Would have been awesome to have him back. Likely a weekend starter if he had

Truly instrumental to the 2023 team. I’ll never forget him in the Tennessee series at the Box and in Omaha holding WF down to get us to the Skenes vs Lowder matchup

If Jay doesn't get a strong sign that Herring will sign last summer, he may have held off on signing Eyanson. I thought Herring should have been a weekend starter last year. Jay showed too much patience with Hurd's inconsistency. I think Herring will have a good pro career.

Herring was perfect in his role but just like with Gavin Guidry, it’s hard to be a weekend starter for Jay Johnson’s LSU with a 2-pitch mix and topping out at 92-93.

That performance was incredible by Herring after Coleman texted Jay saying he wanted the ball then absolutely shite a brick against Wake. Thought we were cooked.
