I would rather her be revealed as the real Mary Jane Watson but we aren't that lucky.

Would make zero sense unless she’s a variant. Zendaya has done just fine as the MCU MJ

Zendaya is a fine actor. She's not playing MJ and that's fine. Michelle Jones is not Mary Jane Watson. I have no issues with them introducing Mary Jane.
