Played in a 4 behind a 4 behind about 50 4somes today at Santa.
Any courses outside BR that are less crowded and worth a drive?

Yea a mid week round at beaver is usually pretty empty, as are most courses except Santa. Weekends you can forget about it, even at the private ones.

Santa Maria is an all time crowded golf course.

The son of a birch had over 50,000 rounds last year .

We would love to see you at The Island in Plaquemine, 15 minutes from the bridge. Our rounds take usually 3:30-3:45 on most days, 4:00 or close on Fridays, Saturdays and faster on Sundays. Come see us, www dot the island golf dot com

They need to raise the prices. That will take care of some of the crowding

Beaver Creek during golden hour is my happy place from April through June.

Low traffic, great pace. Please don’t go there.

Member at Pelican and play The Island a lot pacing has always been good.. I've been caught behind slow play at both but nothing like I've seen at SM or even Carter...

Check out Belle Terre as well

I haven’t checked number of rounds on Capital Hill, but I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t well over 51k.

Baton Rouge feels like it is two courses away (at least) from meeting the demand. I wish the LSU course was decent. That would take some pressure off of Santa Maria and Webb.

Greystone, Copper Mill, Beaver Creek, the island are all great courses and you will play much quicker.

Pace of play at Greystone can be slow. Lots of fivesomes out there every day of the week.

I live 5 mins from Santa Maria. It’s faster for me to drive to the island and play verse going play at Santa Maria.
