Has anyone been up to Toledo bend lately and played out there? Played there last year an the greens were in bad shape.

Played there in November and the greens were pretty nice. Not pristine but definitely not bad. Love the layout

I played there for an lsu tournament thing 6 months or so ago.

They opened up the course and re did a lot of holes, it looked f’ing awesome. But the green were absolute dog shite. Looked like they had some kind of disease in the grass

I have not been since then. It needed it. I played in a few tournaments there back in the day. Teed off with a 7i more than a driver. Pretty course but I hated the layout.

They had like 2-3 waterfront holes back then? I think there’s like 10 now that are all open to the water. The course was beautiful and in spectacular shape (except for the greens).
The greens were awful which is a shame

I played there today for the first time! It is beautiful. One of the guys with us said he played it long ago and the greens are getting better. I didn’t find them terrible at all.

Played around Christmas time. The course was still maturing from the remodel. I thought it was fantastic. Some of the greens were still working to fill in but it’s a great layout. Worth playing.

Played there last year in the Paper and Pulpwood tournament I believe it was called. CART PATH ONLY! It was June but hot as hell, like August hot. If it wasn't for the booze and food on every hole, I don't think I would have made it through 18. I like the changes, but there are cheaper and better places to play in central La. and east Texas.

Legit feels like an ocean course now. One of the best layouts in the state.

When was the last time you played it?

I ask because they just had a couple million dollar renovation last year.

Played it last weekend. Course is in great shape. Greens are hard to read. Look fast but slow as hell!

Good to hear. That's how I remembered it last November. They looked great and rolled smooth, but weren't fast.

Playing in a tournament Sunday and I'm sure they'll be even slower given all the rain.

Take a minute to read putts from behind the hole as well as behind the ball.

Played a few rounds about a month or so ago. Enjoyed the course. Wind was brutal the weekend we played. Holes 8 and 11 were like playing Pebble Beach with the wind coming off the lake. Hole 13 was tough if I remember right… (long par 3, better to miss right than left).

I have a camp just south of course. Visited w superintendent many times during redo. Took the entire course down to the dirt in the Middle of the drought . He did a masterful job on a very limited budget. La. Needs to promote it more . It’s an incredible pc of property. Feels like the Carolinas up there. Go and play and bring all your friends. It’s an excellent experience.
