The U.S. House of Representatives has narrowly passed an all-in-one budget plan bill unexpectedly late Tuesday night. The legislation was pulled in the afternoon after it appeared dead on arrival. However, after several Republican members dropped their opposition, lawmakers were called back to Capitol Hill by Speaker Johnson in order to vote on the legislation which contains President Donald J. Trump’s plans for no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, tax relief for senior citizens, tax breaks for products manufactured in the United States, and a requirement that budgets be at least deficit neutral.

The bill passed strictly along partisan lines, with 217 Republicans voting in favor and 215 Democrats opposed. Now, the House budget bill will head to the Senate, where Republican lawmakers will need to adopt it to begin the budget reconciliation process. Ultimately, Republican lawmakers intend to use reconciliation to address the budget, border security funding, and an extension of expiring provisions in President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

Why do Democrats hate service industry workers, senior citizens and blue collar workers?

I keep seeing community notes on Twitter that say there’s actually nothing in the bill that addresses No tax on tips/overtime.
What’s the truth?
What’s the truth?

We don’t hate them, we just don’t think they should get special tax treatment for the same amount of work.
It’s really not that complicated to understand.

Your candidate for president did.

You knee jerk against anything Trump proposes.

Haven't they already said that this will add 4T to deficit and they are raising the debt ceiling by 4T as well?

Typical stupid twisting of reality. No one hates service workers or people that work overtime.
We should all be taxed for our work the same. No one should get special treatment. Income is income.
Now if you are talking about social security and retirement? That is different seeing as you have people that already paid taxes on that money, then that is understandable.
But as usual, undeserving people want a tax break over others because they whine.

Not sure, I've been hearing the opposite.

See, unlike you, I don’t take everything that my preferred candidate says as gospel and am still capable of saying that any given idea that they have is stupid.

Why should I work extra hours, over 40 for free. After taxes you make penny’s for each overtime hour after 58. It’s not worth working a full 60. And sundays its worse. Thats why overtime tax is a big deal. Have a 7-10 75 day outage it will be much easier to get workers there every day verses skipping a day.

I've heard that too. I'm sure we'll get more info as time goes on.

So genius, who are the types that need tips? certainly is not the upper class. You guys want slush fund money so bad that you can't find a way to allow people who make a low hourly wage and need tips for the ability to take a bit more home to help with their bills. Wow! so much for being for the little guy.
Just so you understand why Democrats are universally hated.

Same here.
He is going to alienate his salaried workers support and lets not forget that is his biggest tax base without questions.
