After getting over 8" of snow and the temperatures where below 0 cleaned off an area to put some deer corn. In a few hours there were at least 20 deer out there. The biggest doe was fighting and running off the other deer. There were a steady stream of deer coming out of the woods. When a buck showed up the big doe took off running. Then two more bucks came to eat. The road was lined up with deer waiting for the bucks to leave. At some point I went out to put some more corn down which ran the bucks off. Within five minutes the deer were back. There was one real small one that was standing in the road being it was being run off so much. Eventually the small one came in and ate some corn. I took a video, but I don't know how to post it here.

Corn is not really healthy for deer,no ruminate animals actually.Cattle in feed lots where they gorge on corn get acidosis.
In normal conditions deer eating from feeders will self limit their intake of corn,so it doesn’t harm them.
In situation you are describing they could very well be overeating corn so you would be doing more harm than good.
It’s pricey but I think something like alfalfa hay would be better.Maybe a deer protein feed.

Try to contact a biologist to get their opinion.

What about a sweet feed? I feed that throughout the year. Has a little corn in it and whatever else that makes the pellet. Deer seem to eat it.

If you're in Northwest Arkansas and in the chronic wasting disease management zone it looks like it's illegal to feed deer this time of year and probably just not a good idea. Having them eat at the same location can spread the disease and it's brutal.

“ sweet feed”
Deer like it,I mix a little with corn in gravity feeders during the fall.
But in starvation scenario as OP describes they likely will eat too much and get sick.
I looked on Purina Website under deer feed.
I’m too dumb to do links but this is what I read-“ Horse feed, especially textured feeds such as grain mixes, will be too high in soluble ( starchy ) carbohydrates for deer, inviting problems with acidosis and founder.

Factor in the molasses I don’t think it would be good overall.

I have some gravity feeders I have protein pellets and food plots but we have lots natural browse.I have cameras,on feeders and food plots but I’m only getting pictures at night, doesn’t seem the deer are under nutritional stress.
Don’t have snow either.

I don’t think it hurts during deer season, deer will eat a little, and move on.They seem to have a instinctual ability to not eat too much of any one thing. That is when they have adequate natural food. When there are acorns on the ground they won’t hardly touch corn or sweet feed.

We feed soybeans. The deer love em. If we put out any corn then all the bears within 10 miles will be up our arse. Its pretty ridiculous.

Usually we only see a few deer at a time. I was shocked that they were running out of the woods to get to the corn. How did they all know there was corn down? Do they have a corn alert sound or something.

Here in Arkansas, I’m pretty sure the crows alert them. When a murder of crows come in, i know im gonna see deer within the hour usually.

This is why I normally put the corn out late in the evening.

Our biologist told us late in the winter like this, it’s actually very beneficial to scatter corn down roads. It gives the deer carbohydrates. They have been rutting hard and fighting the cold. The carbohydrates actually help them

CWD has been in existence since forever. The populations have maintained and in many areas are much higher. CWD is a fear tactic used to generate funding for governmental agencies. Take the time to watch and read the research done by Dr. Deer( Dr. James Kroll). Feed the deer if it's on your property and those that object can frick off.
