Anyone else absolutely despise Samsungs smart tv interface? It has to be the most glitchy and slow interface ever made. Trying to swap between streaming apps is awful and makes me want to sell the tv and get an Amazon just so the interface is better

You should never buy/sell a TV based on the smart platform. Just buy a Roku, AppleTV or even fire TV device and plug it in to the TV and you dont have to deal with it.

If you love the Amazon interface so much, do what the other poster said, and just plug an Amazon Fire into your TV. You'll probably never see the Samsung interface again.

100% if you have space for it, a Roku ultra or Apple TV from the last two years will amaze you. Everything is super fast and all common a/v stuff is supported. If it must be hidden behind a TV, Roku streaming stick is fine. All of these will include basic tv controls so you don’t need multiple remotes. Just check SKU#s and make sure you are buying a current model because they have improved a LOT recently.

I just got a Samsung and I must admit I like tizen better than Google TV that was on my 3 year old Sony.

Tizen runs a lot smoother/quicker than the Sony (maybe newer Google TVs are better and my issues are with old hardware)

I like Tizen as well. Yes, sometimes it is slow to respond to the remote, but that is usually when I am hitting the home button to exit whatever app I'm in. All of the free streaming channels loaded on it are great. If one of my boys wants to watch something, sometimes it is faster to find one of those channels on a show they like than dealing with getting into Netflix, selecting the profile, searching for what they want etc. It looks and feels like an old cable box interface, and I have an antenna in my attic hooked up to it for locals, and those show up in the channel listing with a programming guide as well. I bought the exact model in a slightly smaller size for the bedroom, and I'm going to pick up a third for my office at home too. Just one interface to learn and deal with. And previously we had Firesticks on all the TVs, some of those seem slow compared to the Tizen interface. Our newest one is one of the 4k Firesticks and it is faster, but I like having everything with just one remote to keep up with.

The tv automatically opens up to “Samsung tv” and I have tried changing the setting to prevent that and it still opens instead of opening to Netflix or YouTube tv etc. so I guess I could try putting a fire stick in it but it probably will still open to Samsung tv

Not if you turn it on with the fire stick. You can also set default input but you can't set a default app.
