Does anyone here remember the recruitment of Justin Fields

For some reason, I remember it going down to the wire between LSU and UGA. Was this how it went down? Yes it’s been a boring Tuesday night.

I don’t remember being a finalist for him. I know we had a legit shot with Caleb Williams if Joe Brady would have stayed here.

Seems like LSU was at the top for Haskins and Caleb Williams at some point. I don't remember Fields really being a legit possibility, but could be wrong.

I think he visited late in the cycle but UGA was already his choice by then

Fields was down to GA, Tenn and Penn St. he eventually committed to GA after decommitting from Penn st.

He definitely had interest in LSU and we recruited him. His girlfriend at the time was going to UGA. My son went to high school with him.

I don't but I remember expecting to land Dwayne Haskins early in the cycle. One of the best high school tapes, arm talent wise, I've ever seen.

The only reason I remember Haskins having an interest in LSU was because he was really considering Ohio State, so I looked at the quarterbacks already on the Ohio State roster to see if the depth there might dissuade him from signing with the Buckeyes.
I noticed the had a quarterback named Joe Burrow on the roster, so I watched high school video of him. Looked pretty good, so I was pretty excited when his name popped up a few years later with an interest in LSU.
Turns out he actually was pretty good.

I remember him recommitting from Penn st. He was high on Auburn and visited. Kirby pulled it off. Tough situation. You couldn’t bench Fromm after what he had done.
