I have a Forerunner 265, it does exactly what you want it to do. The difference between it and the Vivoactive looks to be the triathlon features. What specifically do you want to know?

Just track general fitness and activities (mostly walks, runs, workouts). HR. Steps.

I had a garmin 220 I think it was years ago. It finally crapped out.

I want reliable info and a reasonable price. It’s the best priced garmin for what I want .. I just don’t know if anything lower priced is equal or better.

This one is $300 which isn’t bad. DC Rainmaker on YouTube has great reviews — just was curious if anyone here has it.

If you can live without AMOLED touchscreen, the Forerunner 255 is a better watch vs the Vivo.

I replaced my Forerunner 245 with a 265. The LED screen is nice, but there are times I miss the old MIP screen. Better on battery, better in full sun, can leave the screen on at all times vs the LED I have it set to sleep after 5 seconds or so and it doesn’t always wake when I lift my arm.

Amoled screen is a must. It’s so much better. My brother bought my dad the Forerunner 165, which is pretty basic and it was under $200 and had Amoled screen.

I have a Fenix 8 and love it. It’s pricier, but I like the look better and I wear it as my everyday, plus it streams Spotify so I don’t need to take my phone when I run.

Regardless, can’t go wrong with really Garmin.

I've got the vivoactive 5. It's my introduction into garmin after wearing an applewatch for a decade. Loving it so far. I don't have much to compare it to but it has met all of my needs.

I have the venu.

If you just want to track hr, steps, workouts it's great. I've had no issues. I don't run, bike, etc so the extra features on the forerunner weren't something I needed. Battery life is good.

Only thing about the garmin watches is their proprietary charger. Kind of annoying.

I much prefer the MIP on my fenix 7x pro to amoled. Different strokes for different folks.
