Not sure if this is a “we are gonna struggle early” or “we’re gonna be ok but not good” kind of statement.

“This team will get better as the season goes on more than teams from the past,” Torina said. “Their best softball is in front of them deeper into the season. They need some experience.

"You’re going to see more growth out of this team than in the past. We have enough people with enough experience to keep us in a lot of ball games, especially Sydney Berzon. If she stays on her feet, we’re in great shape.”

I am expecting the usual middle of the pack finish in the conference although likely a couple spots lower with the addition of OU and Texas.

It isn't complicated. Going into a season, this is the least veteran team that she has had in a few years. The learning curve is different for this team than the last few.

They will have new starters at short, 2nd, 1st, left, and center. Last year, there were zero new starters on opening day from the year before.

I think the talent is there, but it might take a little time for them to gel, which is ok.

You buried the lead. The thrust of that story was she is feeling the pressure. I think AD Scott has told her to win or leave.

I didn’t take it as that. I took it more of she has staffing changes which she knew she needed to make in Dobson and as such, there is some uncertainty on how this will play out. But, her general feeling is this team will learn very fast And be good at the end of the season. She is uncertain, but very excited.
At least that’s how I read it.

Then why did he extend her contract?

You can’t tell people to look at the entire picture and consider all implications on here. They look with a narrow lens and throw stuff out to if it will stick.

Because her buyout is very small compared to all of the other coaches at LSU. I want her to win as much as you do because as an alum of LSU I want us to win everything. But those last WCWS tix that I am looking at are shriveling up.

I don't think Dobson was forced out. I know he wanted to see his son play baseball at USL and I believe that is what his decision was based on.

You know what’s funny is Howard was a big time hire for this program when she made that move. Over the last several years, their production dropped. She needed to shed some weight off of the program.
It is a good thing to have change .

He threw out the ceremonial first pitch so you're right or he's really forgiving.

How about that bout compared to the program and other programs across the confer once and country? They lost 1MM in 2023 and that’s not what was absorbed by other teams under their respective budgets.

Ugh. She stinks. Very average and we shouldn’t accept that at a place like LSU. Surprised the softball faithful and boosters have been so loyal to her.
