Thanks Cuse.

Will be flying back from Durango to Lafayette Tuesday... Lol

Hoping that we can get from Durango to Dallas then maybe drive to Lafayette.

Alternatively if the waiver is issued early enough, may try to book the same flight on Wednesday.... Hopefully things have recovered enough by Wednesday. Currently booked on American

An extra day at purgatory isn't necessarily a horrible alternative.

Any suggestions appreciated!

This is exactly what I'd aim for. As soon as I see the AA waiver posted I'll update the title here. You may be able to rebook your trip online for free once that happens, if for some reason you can't then call in ASAP to do all this before everyone else starts calling in. If all the flights get cancelled on Tuesday to Laffy then everyone will be rebooked for Wednesday and it will fill up quickly.

There are only 5 seats on the Wednesday morning flight out of Durango on AA 6302 so definitely rebook as soon as the waiver is posted. Don't want you getting stuck in dallas. I don't even know if LFT airport has a snow plow or how they plan on clearing the runways now that I think about it... Wednesday might not be great either but at least the sun is supposed to be out

Appreciate the info! I'll be on the lookout.

Fixing to board the flight to Durango ( in Dallas)... This little 2 day trip to do a little skiing might turn into an extended vacation...

Height on the deicing trucks not tall enough for the wings?? Never even thought about that.

I've got a 777 from Orlando to Denver next week, can't wait

Southwest and United have added waivers, start the rebooking process now if you're flying out of Houston or Nola on Monday night or Tuesday

AA has posted their waiver, go ahead and update your trip asap before inventory is gone!

There's only 3 seats on that Wednesday morning flight out of Durango, hope you get some of those seats

Ehhh. We'll see how Houston does tomorrow night and Tuesday morning, same thing with baton rouge. I think the waiver is only for Monday and Tuesday so you may have to wait anyway for United to update their waiver

Honest talk, I'd expect Denver to Houston to go and likely be oversold from cancelled flights on Tuesday morning to IAH. Baton rouge is going to be the bigger question on how much snow they actually get and how the airport handles snow clearing. Suns supposed to be out on Wednesday which will help with snow melt

The 940am and 1115am flights DEN to IAH are only selling one seat each right now, they'll definitely be full if you're on one of those

I’m on the 9:40a flight to Houston. United did send me a waiver. I guess I’m just deciding whether to stay in Denver til Thursday or risk and hope to make it Wednesday

Sorry you're right, I did see they extended the waiver until Wednesday now.

Up to you! Do you want a busy travel day wednesday (packed flights) with a potential chance that BTR doesnt open due to snow and ice? My guess is it opens wednesday but I really have no idea. Even if the airport opens, does that mean all the workers can make it to the airport safely by wednesday? Won't know until the snow hits and how much it hits...

If this was me and i had the means to stay in denver for another day, I'd probably do it just to let things clear up a bit in both Houston and BR

IAH and HOU will cease operations at midnight tonight. Preemptively shutting it all down.

Said they will have staff at the airport for a quick reopen when ready, but didn't say when. I'd bet it will be 6am Wednesday.

United has cancelled a boatload of flights already, but I do see them still have a bunch still showing on time for Tuesday afternoon. I think you're right they don't reopen until Wednesday but who knows

If the snow in Houston ends around 12 on Tuesday, I just don't see them scrambling to get a handful of flights out that night. I think they sit on it, get prepared, and announce full reopen 6am Wednesday.

Temps get in mid 30s Tuesday afternoon, so everything going to melt off relatively quickly.
