Need some help finding a caribbean resort. Would prefer AI. Budget is around 10k for 6 nights. Looking for a relaxing trip, not traveling far from resort during our stay.
Fiance is suggesting St. Vincent, St. Lucia or Jamaica. I was dead set on Costa Rica but she's worried the beaches aren't as nice.

Hoo boy. Good luck.
I wish I could tell you what the beaches in Western Costa Rica looked like, but we stayed in the pool and hit the zip line tours and stuff and ignored the beach.

I'm not sure abouty flights from where you are but getting to St. Vincent can be a long travel day.

The Four Seasons Resort Papagayo had access to a couple of beaches and they were nice.

Don’t do Jamaica
St Lucia has a good bit of nice all inclusive resorts from as basic as a Sandals to high class like Jade Mountain.

Costa Rica isn't really a relaxing AI destination

How's that? We only put on real clothes to go to dinner, seemed plenty relaxed to me. Except for the Canadians (it was November.) The Canadians can ruin anything.

Because it sounds like he wants to sit on a nice beach with clear water and get served drinks all day. When I was in CR I was ziplining, repelling down waterfalls, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting etc. I did go to an AI for the last 3 days of the trip but it was by far the weakest part of that trip. CR leans more Adventure than Relaxation. I think he can get a better version of what he's looking for in a place like St. Lucia

Bitter End Yacht Club, Virgin Gorda, BVI
Westin Resort, St. John USVI
Peter Island, BVI (might stretch the budget but a wonderful place to stay)
All of these are much nicer than being in Jamaica which is just about the last island I'd choose in the Caribbean.

St Lucia- Sugar Beach was awesome.
A bit of a ride from the airport and roads are sketchy but it was easy to get a private driver at the airport who offered to basically be on call whenever we wanted to go off resort.
Dedicated butler, super chill beach in a cove so very little surf (wife isn’t a fan of that), great food…not AI but you can add food & drink packages. Much better food quality than any AI we’ve been to.
