When the eagles bow out and they captured no Super Bowl and gave up a chance to easily become the all time leading rusher needing merely 106 yards…may not be important to him now but when he is 50/60 yrs old…he gonna wish he broke that record….

No he won't, dumb arse. He will know he had to play 17 games to get the record when Eric Dickerson did it in 16 games. Who wants a record that you only won because the league added an extra regular season game to the schedule?

Hopefully he will manage his money better than Mark Gastineau did and won't be as desperate. I was never a Gastineau fan but I don't enjoy seeing anyone fall on hard times.

I think the bigger worry is what if he got like 80 yards? That could’ve been super deflating and wouldn’t be terribly strange

That said, I think you have to let both saquon, and the line chase an all time performance like that- just like you don’t bench starters if you are 16-0

If it’s a mark that will be in the fabric of nfl lore for decades to come the american spirit in me says let the guy try to reach unreached heights.

This wasn’t most catches by an afc rookie FB - most rushing yards ever is iconic

you ever see Dickerson crying that he did it in more games than OJ when he broke that record?

Agreed. I personally think the "no need to risk him for the playoffs" is overrated. Their probability of not winning the Superbowl and this being just another season in the books are extremely hight. Even the current favorite, Lions, have a 75% chance of NOT winning the Superbowl.

I'm sure he'll be OK. It's not like he sent a chick unsolicited dick pics or defrauded a charity.

Dickerson had 45 more carries than Barkley. Why is games important?

And what could be better for those odds going up than the offensive line walking in with the swagger of calling themselves the greatest blockers ever

If I was a fringe favorite I think I would’ve tried to get that energy in the building - though there is risk

This is a very valid point. Compare the carries, not the games played to determine who the true record holder is.
