He didn't get any time this season but was pretty good for Cincy last season
Can't be any worse then Carr
I'm sure he would be worth a 3/4 round pick

Be cause of Burrows injury history, I imagine they want to hang on for at least one more season

So far we have spent a 3rd and a 5th on the backup QB position and you want to send another 3rd?

Why waste draft capital on the chance of slightly improving the QB play for 1 year? Just let the suck happen for a few years while rebuilding with young talent and hopefully ML doesn’t go all Loomis in free agency the next 2 years

To find our franchise QB… spending another 3rd that we may miss on in the draft is nothing.

I like this idea by the OP. I’d give a 3rd for Browning even though Carr will be starting next year.

Browning would be the back up with potential to be the guy in 2026.

The issue is. We keep wasting picks on Backup Qb’s and it’s helped result in terrible O Line and D Line depth. I like Browning. I just don’t get the point. If we had a win now, competitive team, I’d understand having a quality stopgap backup. But we are essentially a 2 win team that went on a lucky 3 game winning streak bc opposing kickers kept missing 30 yard fg’s.

I hear you. Any other QB that this thread would be about, I would agree with you.

But Browning in that bengals offense sitting behind Burrow… I think he could be a damn good starting QB in this league. Hypothetically I’d make that trade.

yes he can.

Take out Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins and he absolutely could be worse than Carr

I don’t love Carr but it absolutely can get worse

I don’t see the point of bringing him in to be the backup for 1 year (no guarantee of major playing time), then have to resign him (1 year left on his contract) while Carr still has at least 1 year left plus a bunch of void money lined up for 2027.

He is a RFA after this season.

He’s salary this season is 1MM

This thread is a hypothetical.

We’re trading for him for - 3rd/4th. You bring him in. Watch his camp. Watch his preseason.

Hitting on a good backup QB is just as common as drafting one in the top 3.

Dumping Carr in 2026 would be worth it to find his replacement.
