ABC 7 NY Article

Seems to work well for London. Time will tell. $9 to enter Manhattan south of Central Park during peak times.

I've always heard lots about the big apple
So, I thought I'd come up here and see
But all I've seen so far is one big hassle
Wish I was camped out on the Okeechobee

I think they pay you back the 9 with interest.

Probably a move to economically boost Harlem.

Imagine paying 9 dollars to enter New Orleans or any other major city.

The NYC congestion pricing is a tax because the city/state is running out of places to tax.

So Manhattan, one of the most progressive areas in the county, wants to make a barrier to entry that disproportionately affects poor people? I’m shocked

Well there is one cover charge I don't have to ever be concerned with paying.

Part of the fee is dedicated to public transportation

There are credits for poorer people. They won't pay 9.

The cost of owning a car in Manhattan rules out most poors to begin with.

They would be middle/ upper almost everywhere else.

No one is driving into lower Manhattan just for the fun of it. There is no point.

What's fricked up is Jersey residents aren't paying in a lot of cases. I'd be pissed about that. frick them.

I’m not talking about people that live in Manhattan

People drive into Manhattan, as evidenced by the anti congestion tax because of too many cars in Manhattan

Not poor people though. People from the Bronx, Jersey, Westchester, LI.

Just the cost of doing business @ $9/day
