Shuttles appear to be $60/pp each way from airport to ski area. Has anyone found a cheaper option? Taking 3 adults and 2 kids (both should be using car seats). Seems expensive to pay $600 to get to and from the airport 30 minutes away. Hoping someone here has solved this problem already.

I would reserve an Uber XL or Lyft XL Average price from Hayden Airport to Steamboat is about $80.

Uber/Lyft is not very reliable there. Book a private ride. Will be more expensive then uber prices but better than the per person rate for a shuttle and you won’t have to deal with making multiple stops on the way. Couple options would be Rogers rides or Valley transportation

Thank you. Not huge savings, but $440 beats $600. Cheers!

I rented a car the times I went. For. Family of 4, at least in 2020/2021 it was about the same price or maybe even slightly cheaper for the car.

Went to Steamboat for Mardi Gras of 2022 and used steamboat express shuttle. Pretty expensive but I thought it was worth it. Sprinter van picked us up as soon as we grabbed our luggage. We also had 6 children 4 of which were 6 and under including a 4 month old, that is part of the reason why I say it’s worth it. Car seat situation was taken care of, adequate seats for all children. Good experience for both arrival and departure.

Thanks for the responses. We booked with Roger. Private van and should be dependable. Car seats. $440 rather than $600. Seems to be best of an expensive proposition.

The shuttle is a good call. I made that drive in a snowstorm 2 years ago and holy shite was that frightening for my southern arse.

That $60 per person is brutal. We did a private ride with Transfeero instead, cost us about $90 total for five of us. Since it’s per vehicle, not per head, it ended up cheaper. Driver was chill, had the car seats already in, and we went straight to the resort.

I would just make sure and have transportation arranged prior. We made the mistake of just thinking we'd get and UBER once we landed.......it was a pain in the arse and took forever before we made it from the airport to our condo.

Yeah we ended up calling Roger per the recommendation and he was great. Agree best to arrange ahead of time. It was wild landing in the noon hour in that tiny airport with 5 other major flight arrivals. Thousands of people trying to solve the same problem at the same time.
