Mickey’s presence here is going to prevent a good hire

No one with any type of vision or mass appeal is going to come here to play the cap/talent games Mickey plays.
The Dennis Allen failure was tied to him and he should have gone down with that ship.
Hiring a defensive minded head coach and further clinging to the Payton era will set us back years.
Everybody but the damn janitors need to go

Um......he hired Sean Peyton ( coming off Katrina). He had vision. Won Superbowl.
Unfortunately Loomis rolled dice on Allen hoping he learned something from Peyton and hoping for continuity . Well that didn't work out.
I wouldn't have done his salary cap issue, but I get why he did it.
He strongly felt that they had a playoff type team.
I am going to sit back a see what he does this off season with a new hire and I won't make up mind about Loomis until we get passed the draft and end of 2025 season.

This is a big discussion on Saints report. If Mickey is willing to hire a coach and let him work to pick a new player personnel, trade decision maker, I think you could hire the best coaches. If Mickey wants to have someone bend the knee, and keep the same personnel department, we will sign a very limited coach. Mickeys issues are that he allowed the personnel department to make huge misses in the draft during the Jeff Ireland tenure. I know he recently added two old friends of his, but you need someone young to revamp the department from Green Bay, Baltimore, Minn. You need someone to keep the cupboard full, whereas the present regime has allowed has to have one of the least talented rosters in the NFL.

Mickey has to nail the hire. A quick turnaround is the only thing that can further mask how he has set this franchise back multiple years.

Again, that this is a discussion and not a mandate from Gayle on the direction shows where the problem lies.
It’s her fault.

Everyone but smug Mickey knows it

A real coach will never come to New Orleans why would you

Agreed.
I will not renew my season tickets if Mickey stays. He created the mess and if Gail can't see it, and fire him, the Saints are lost. I will listen on the radio until they burn it down and start fresh.

Mickey is one of the most respected GMs in the nfl. We won the Saints a Super Bowl. Say that again the Saints a Super Bowl. He kept us relevant for a decade. The hate for him over the Allen hire blinds people. Micky isn’t the saints issue.

Gayle needs to sell the team to someone who would keep the team in New Orleans. I wish the Manning’s would get some kind of ownership because they are football people. Mickey is part of the problem, but it starts at the top.
