to put it mildly

but the new HC hire will be crucial to ZHS athletics, as football basically leads the way for everything else

Reclassification has and always will be a bitch no matter how you slice it. My dad was once on the LHSAA exec committee and he always dreaded that time of the year.

Why don't the 3A, 2A, and 1A principals band together and vote to allow schools to play up in classification? That way they would not be facing Curtis, Calvary, Evangel every year.

Lutcher will have an easier road to repeating in 4A than in 3A. St. James might be better next year than they were this year

The last time we moved up to 5A all sports except basketball got continually dominated.

I beg to differ. We were competitive in 5A but not dominated. You could tell we did not belong there though.

I don't recall that. I just recall getting the football team getting their asses handed to them over and over. In fact, if the football team won more than 10 games in my 4 years at ZHS, I would be suprised.

I do agree there. Football sucked and I blame the administration for that. But the other sports were competitive but not as basketball.

97, 98, and 99 were awesome and yes we should have went further.

I don't get the idea of playing up. if your school has 2,000 students d that outs you in Group 3 so be it If you have 50 and belong in Group c again so be it. If Evangel has 500 students and that is 2 a, so what. You play where your size mandates. Period.

What's the big deal?

4A moving to 5A are Zachary, LaGrange, Live Oak, Shaw
Just a matter of time for Zachary to go again. They were pretty close 2 yrs ago. What happened to Walker could very likely happen to Live Oak. Ouch!
