All the crawfish in Louisiana are caught by Mexicans with work visas. Where’s the outrage?

I thought most were grown in ponds or marsh flats. Are you telling me Mexicans are riding around through swamps running crawfish traps?

Good luck finding Americans willing to work.

I saw an interview with one of the farmers in a youtube video posted on the OT. He was asked why he didn't hire locals and his response was the locals are either too addicted to drugs or believe they are too good to do farm work.
I have also heard the same reasoning from other farmers in person.

According to a Fox News report earlier today there are more than 1 million H1B visa holders who skipped out and remain here but not doing the jobs they were brought in for.
Lets fix the system first and let the idiots on both sides shut up.

That's true with every industry, even the white collar ones, in any zip code you pick in the USA.
And it's not simply limited to the locals.

Well heaven forbid we try to address this problem in any sort of aggressive manner. Just think of the profit we might have to forfeit in extra taxes!

You have to admit - it's pretty weird and funny to see "MAGA" talking like Pelosi and Schumer.
When Homan finishes deporting all the violent criminal illegals, are you going to support the end of the deportation program and reopening of the border?

No. The farm workers here in Louisiana are all here legally. What's your point?

Fake news. Ever been to Pierre Part?

My point is you sound like liberals did during the Biden administration as they rationalized an open border when you post, "good luck finding Americans willing to work".
Seriously, how many times did we hear assholes on the Left say shite like that? "They're only doing jobs that Americans won't do!"
And here you are parroting them now.

Something I've noticed for the past 30 years.
Since the early 90's 25-30 million low wage/low skill immigrants have entered the US job market yet prices have continued to rise for every sector of the economy these low skill workers reside. So what has the nation and the American people really gained?
US home builders have been using illegal immigrants to build homes for 30-40 years. The average cost of a new home in 2024 is over $400k. The average price for a new home in 2000 was under $200k
