When was LSU's last successful trick play on special teams?

Watching some old games with Miles at the helm and man he really did run some timely trick plays that were often successful. Fake FGs, fake punts, great ways at stealing momentum. On top of a good defense, LSU always had good special teams with him as well. Not sure what Kelly's plan is, but I really hope he can hire a dedicated ST coach.

Lesticles pulled one on Florida nearly every year and they STILL couldn't stop it.

Fake punt? We can’t even “normal” punt.

He even had a fake punt on Bama in 2010. I totally forgot about that one. Dude really did have some balls

Daniels caught a TD pass in the bowl game vs Purdue.

The South Carolina fake FG was my fav. I still remember the look on Steve Spurrier’s face.

Our spec teams have been absolute dog shat under Kelly. He needs to embrace spec teams and get a bonafide spec teams coach after the bowl game.

I came to the realization earlier this year that fakes on special teams are kind of outdated in modern football. I loved me some fakes back in the day and they aren't completely off the table, but I think a lot of teams are more into going on 4th and might as well use the unit designed to pick up yards. Kelly has pretty obviously not emphasized special teams but I don't think he's alone. I don't necessarily agree with the sentiment but I guess of you're limited in practice time you gotta have priorities.

A trick play still stuck in my memory was Auburn vs LSU in 1969 when old conservative Cholly Mac ran a half-back pass on LSU's first play from scrimmage resulting in a TD.

2007 was the awesome South Carolina fake field goal. Matt Flynn was the holder. A thing of beauty.

I was there as a 15 year old sophomore in high school. It was my first game ever in Tiger Stadium. When the play was two seconds in, I screamed to my Dad, "He's gonna throw it!" We were in the south end zone as we watched Buddy Gilbert throw it to Andy Hamilton, who scored right in front of us.
What a game!
What a game!

this one was a favorite, but you are correct, there is no imagination in any of our offensive coaches....starting with BK apparently. Boring boring boring offensive football all around.

Yo man I didn’t say any of that
An offense putting up heisman numbers and 4k passing yards this year is not boring. That’s silly.

they need to study the Aaron Anderson kick return against Oklahoma to see what went right because that was a perfectly executed kick return

I miss 5 yards and a cloud of dust! Old School Rules!
