The Not-So-Brand-New Alex Box Stadium.

Everybody knows that we are getting a new Alex Box Stadium for baseball this year. What most may not know is that not everything in the new Box will be new. I am a 15 year season ticket holder in the Home Run Bleachers behind the outfield wall. I don't know whether it is to save time, money, or both, but the Home Run Bleachers in the new stadium will be the same bleachers brought over from the old stadium. That's right, we have to sit in old bleachers at a brand new stadium! What makes it worse is that we still have to pay TAF a "Tradition Fund" to have the right to sit in these old bleachers. To add even more insult to injury, sections 101, 102, 201, 202, 122, 123, 222, and 223 down the first and third baselines will be getting brand new bench-back bleachers and will not have to pay a "Tradition Fund." Not only is this unfair to some really great LSU baseball fans, it is just plain wrong. I know that college baseball is becoming more business oriented every day, but business is not just about how much money you can make, it is also about how you treat your customers.
I love LSU baseball with a passion and am not angry, just disappointed. I will be there on opening night cheering as much as I can for Coach Mainieri and the 2009 LSU Baseball Tigers!

Considering you joined TD just to say that, I would have to guess you are insanely pissed off right now.

Honestly, it is a bit odd to bring in old seating for a new facility. I'm guessing they didn't save the old seats for the new upper decks in Tiger Stadium.

Pretty sure he has been writing this for the past 2 days. This was probably his final draft I'd guess.

bleachers are bleachers. it's not like there's some new hi-tech bleacher that they're going to replace it with... what's the big deal?
and yes, you have tickets, quit bitching...

left field lunatics requested this be pissed at them
You'd think he would have known that if he was a 15 year season tix holder...
personally, I think its kind of cool.
On the other hand, I'm glad theres nothing coming over from Shea over to Citi. Even the apple is supposed to be a new replica.
Scratch that - the orange foul poles are coming over.
So there....I guess I now have a right to complain now too.

well they may have to if they don't finish in a month and one week for now, assuming you have not seen the stadium much less where the hr bleachers are (and yes...I have), they just started building them, they put a few rebar frames down and lined the outside with wood (I'm guessing concrete supports, I don't know, I know nothing of construction), and also I don't know where you got this from, so theres not really any room for the old bleachers, and another thing everyone pays taf (they had charts at the old Alex Box), and I believe hr bleachers, which is seating section 8 in the new AB have the cheapest "donations"
btw, outfield field fences is lined with pads unlike the old AB, same along the fences in foul territory

I read on here they wanted to bring those bleachers to have a piece of Alex Box in the new one and had nothing to do with saving money

first let everything sink in and let the season get started.you may find that its not that bad.it could even be better.hook up with chris guillot and im sure he will trade some of his.he has atleast 20 in the grandstand.

I just bought my 2 in sec 128 on the first row of the HR bleachers, and whether they're new or old, I'm stoked about it!

The Mets are bringing over their futility and late-season collapses.

What most may not know
Actually, someone posted this last week. So everyone knew already. Thanks though, try not to fall through the left field death trap bleachers this season.
